Henderson Building
est. 1908
The Henderson Building, situated at 505 Division Street, is one year newer than its adjacent Reunion counterpart, the Kelly Building. (Step just a few feet to your left to learn more!) It has served perhaps one of the most unique and wide arrays of purposes out of any building downtown. In 1908, Fred E. Henderson built the structure as storage for the farming machinery business he operated nearby. It was occupied by Suede Furniture in the 1930s, and by an appliance store from 1942 until the 1980s, known by then as Brady’s Appliance. The Henderson Building was then purchased by another round of new ownership, and its purpose was again entirely converted when Grundy’s Rueb ‘N’ Stein restaurant expanded into the space in 1988. Within the Rueb, this end was used as a game room. The next and most recent change experienced by this building came in 2017, when Reunion bought it and started construction to reinvigorate the space once more.
