The History of the Railroad In Northfield Comes to Life!

The railroad played an enormous role in the development of Northfield. Learn about how it began and expanded from one of Northfield's premire experts, Jim Machacek.

The Northfield Historical Society is pleased to present a special program, "The History of the Railroad in Northfield," presented by Jim Machacek on Thursday June 30th at 7:00 P.M. in the newly remodeled Scriver Building.

Jim will describe the early beginnings, the emergence of new technology, the tremendous growth and ultimate decline of the railroad in and around Northfield. We'll also have model trains, and related collections on display.

For a sneak preview take a look at our mini-display in the bank windows at 408 Division Street. There's much more to the story and we hope you'll join us for an interesting and fun evening. We'd especially like to see our many new members and be sure to bring the kids!

Refreshments will be served and all are invited to linger and mingle after the program.
