You forgot to add Marilyn

You forgot to add Marilyn Machcek to the WWII women. She was well known to all of Northfield. Either ask the VFW about her or her husband, Jim Machecek.

Northfield Women and WW II Exhibit

Hello Larry: I knew about Marilyn Machacek, and I had a nice visit with her husband Jim at the VFW last week. She was a really beautiful woman, as well as an accomplished one. Almost twenty Northfield women answered the call to military duty in WW II. Space limitations prevented the Historical Society from showcasing all of them at this time. We did include a listing of all these fine women, with their branch of service at the entrance to the exhibit. Because I was including my mother, Florence Heermance Wiechman, who was an Army nurse, I decided to focus that, plus Nellie Phillips. When more museum space may become available, Northfield Historical Society could very well decide to do an exhibit on all these deserving women. I hope so. Until then, I hope you will come to see Northfield Women and World War II: From the Homefront to the Battlefront. I beleive you will enjoy it, and thank you.
