The Arts and Culture Commission of Northfield and the Northfield Historical Society invite the community to celebrate the dedication of its newest sculpture, "Harvest," by Raymond Jacobson, on Thursday, October 16, at 5:30 p.m. The celebration, which will include music, dance and remarks from community leaders, will be held on the Sesquicentennial Legacy Plaza, near the corner of 5th and Water Streets in Northfield.
Speakers for the event will be Philip Spensley, Chair of Northfield's Arts and Culture Commission; Gail Jones Hansen, President of the Northfield Historical Society; Northfield's Mayor Lee Lansing; John W. Lettmann, Chairman of Malt-O-Meal; and sculptor Ray Jacobson.
Event organizers are planning an interdiscipinary celebration of the arts with a dance performance, choreographed by Susan Bauer and Jennifer Anderson Koenig, and music by Scandium.
The "Harvest" sculpture is a Sesquicentennial Legacy Project celebrating Northfield's agricultural heritage.
