Authors, Authors and more Authors!

The Northfield Historical Society will host three authors during the DJJD celebration this weekend. Starting on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. John J. Koblas, Victoria Kasten and Johnny D. Boggs well all be signing copies of their books at the Northfield Historical Society hospitality tent, located on Bridge Square, right in front of the Scriver Building.

viclooky.jpgVictoria Kasten, is the author of the widely popular children's books series, Mighty Stallion. The Mighty Stallion series looks at the American Wild West through the eyes of the wild horse. Right now there are 4 books in the series with more on the way.

Johnny D. Boggs, is a two time spur award winner for excellence in western writing Johnny's newest book titled Northfield: A Western Story chronicles the ill-fated raid on the 1st National Bank of Northfield by the James-Younger through twenty-three people affected by the robbery. This historical fiction really captures the tone and feelings that fateful day in September 1876 and the ensuing two week pursuit of the gang through Minnesota.  Some of Johnny's other books are; Camp Ford A Western Story, Walk Proud Stand Tall, East of the Border and many other historical fiction books. Johnny will only be here on Saturday to sign, so come by Saturday to visit with him!

jackmetr.jpgJohn J. Koblas, is one of the top experts on the James-Younger Gang and their travels through Minnesota and has published twelve books on that subject. One of Koblas' best known books on the James-Younger Gang is Faithful Unto Death, that chronicals the Gang's movements through Minnesota before and after their attempted robbery in Northfield, it is the most comprehensive book on the attempted raid to date. Some of John's other books include; Jesse James in Iowa, Jesse James Ate Here, Minnesota Grit and many more.

All three of the authors will be on hand Saturday starting at 10:00 a.m. and Koblas and Kasten will return on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. to sign more copies of their books.
