A visit from across the pond

Last Friday (5-12-06) The Northfield Historical Society (NHS) had a visit from across the pond. Artmagic an educational DVD documentary company based out of England was here filming a factual documentary on the life of the notorious bank robber Jesse James. Kevin, the one-man crew, spent the entire day in our museum filming and interviewing for the documentary. Kevin interviewed local author, John Koblas and local historian, Chip DeMann. Kevin was very interested in the attempted bank robbery by the James-Younger gang but he seemed even more interested in Northfields history. He was also very impressed with our newly renovated museum and exhibit and he saw nothing but good things for NHS as we told him our plans for expansion. He said that our museum was ahead of many museums in England and around the world. We did not just talk history, we also debated which NFL team was better, Kevin liked the Raiders and of course, I like the Vikes. Kevin told me, if I was ever in the U.K. we would settle the argument over a game of Madden NFL football, which I accepted. Dont worry all of you worriers, I am very good at Madden and I will represent Northfield well if I get the chance! Once the documentary is done we hope to have the DVD in stock and for sale in our store. For more information on Artsmagic, visit their website.
